Silver Lake is only 129 km away from Belgrade located near town of Veliko Gradiste. It is 14 km long, 300 m wide and in some places up to 3 m deep. Such elongated shape indicates that today’s lake was once Danube riverbed. During sunset, lake’s surface sparkles in silver reflection, explaining origin of the name.
During time, Silver Lake has become tourist oriented area that now features sandy beaches, one hotel and a campsite. Rich variety of fresh-water fish makes this lake an angler’s paradise. Powerful pumps make sure that lake’s water level is always bellow river Danube enabling fresh water from the river to flow into the lake while filtrating through sand embankments. This is why Silver Lake is known for high quality water.
