Mirusa River is located in Metohia region of Kosovo and Metohia Province. 2 km long and narrow gorge is the most interesting part of the river. Sixteen lakes within this gorge are interconnected with beautiful waterfalls making it natural masterpiece. They resemble famous Plitvicka Jezera lakes in present day Croatia and this is why they call it Small Plitvice.
The biggest lake has 50 m in diameter approximately, the biggest depth is 9 m and the tallest waterfall is 21 m. Limestone and water have made several caves and other karst formations that make this natural jewel even more interesting. Duska Pecina cave is the longest one and it features subterranean river. These caves served as shelter during harsh times of Turkish occupation
