Sara Mountain is bordering Serbia and Montenegro in Kosovo and Metohia Province. With a status of National park it covers 38,000 acres away from civilization, hence preserving nature in the best possible way. It is almost untouched by man with rich flora and fauna featuring endemic Macedonian pine and Alpine rose. As far as animals are concerned, bears, chamois, lynx and other species can be found.

Sar Planina hosts Brezovica skiing resort with the best skiing slopes in Serbia that reach as high as 2500 m. Sar Planina as well as the whole Kosovo and Metohia Province are currently administrated by UNNMIK, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244
