Prizren

Stefan Decanski’s son Dusan is remembered as the most powerful Serbian medieval ruler. He spread Serbian territories as far as The Aegean Sea, present day Greece and he seriously considered claiming Constantinople. Kingdom of Serbia became Serbian Empire based on Byzantine values as Emperor Dusan issued famous Zakonik or Legal Code in 1349, later named after him, “Dusan’s Legal Code”. He chose town of Prizren in Kosovo and Metohia Province for Serbian Empire capital. Emperor Dusan’s endowment, Holy Archangels Monastery did not survive Turkish barbarism, unfortunately and church construction material was later used for building Sinan Pasa Mosque as seen on picture above.
